Melissa joined Traner Smith & Company in 2017. As a young child she had a love of numbers, which when combined with her passion of helping others, ultimately drew her to the accounting profession.

She has been working in the finance industry since 2010 first in banking, then moving to private accounting where she gained hands on experience with the full accounting cycle. Following this she then transitioned to public accounting performing accounting services, payroll services, as well as preparing individual, corporate and partnership tax returns.

Melissa earned her Master’s of Professional Accountancy at Central Washington University. She is continuing to further her knowledge by preparing for the CPA exam.

When not studying for the CPA exam, Melissa enjoys spending her time in the company of family and friends, going to concerts, hiking, and watching sports events especially the Seahawks.
